Job Description

Summary The Revenue Assurance Analyst will be responsible for correctly capturing shipment cost components on the customer invoice. The role focuses on auditing vendor invoices against shipment costs, recovering incorrect charges, ensuring billable costs get passed through to customers and fix the recurring issues causing invoicing omissions and errors.
Essential Functions:
  • Audit airline, agent and vendor invoices against quoted and expected shipment costs
  • Investigate discrepancies between expected and actual costs to determine the cause
  • Dispute incorrect charges and coordinate credits or corrected invoices with vendors
  • Track discrepancies through final resolution
  • Work with the operations department to determine why additional shipment costs occurred
  • Identify additional charges needing to be billed to the customer and ensure they are captured
  • Review shipment level profitability and flag margin leakage
  • Analyze recurring discrepancies by vendor, customer, lane, station and charge type
  • Recommend and implement process improvements to prevent repeat issues
  • Maintain reporting on discrepancies, recoveries, additional customer billing and cost accuracy
Competencies:
  • Strong attention to detail and numerical accuracy
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to investigate a discrepancy down to its root cause
  • Advanced Excel skills, experience working with large transactional data sets - pivot tables, lookups, variance analysis
  • Solid understanding of costs, revenue, margins, variances and reconciliations
  • Ability to manage issues independently from identification through resolution
  • Professional communication skills with ability to interface with all levels of stakeholders
  • Freight audit, revenue assurance, pricing, cost control experience a plus
Qualifications:
  • Bachelors Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Analytics or relevant field
  • Minimum 3 years experience in financial analysis, revenue assurance, audit, accounting, billing or operations analysis
  • Freight forwarding, transportation, logistics or supply chain experience a plus
  • Advanced experience with Microsoft Office including Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Expereince with a TMS or ERP system, Power BI or similar tools preferred
Pay:
$75,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
