Job Description
Our Client, a Banking company, is looking for a Business Information Management Analyst I for their Toronto, ON/Hybrid location.
Responsibilities:
Lead complex data remediation and analysis initiatives across large, structured and unstructured datasets to ensure accuracy, consistency, and alignment with enterprise data standards
Drive data quality (DQ) improvements and control frameworks, proactively identifying data risks and implementing sustainable solutions to mitigate operational, regulatory, and reputational impacts
Partner with business, technology, and data stakeholders to understand requirements, influence data strategy decisions, and deliver scalable data solutions aligned with business objectives
Design and implement automation and process optimization solutions (e.g., Python, SQL, workflow tools) to improve efficiency, reduce manual effort, and enhance control effectiveness
Act as a subject matter expert (SME) for Party & Account data domains, providing guidance, resolving complex data issues, and supporting onboarding of new data consumers
Translate business requirements into actionable data logic and rules, ensuring alignment with governance standards and downstream data consumption needs
Support and lead project delivery efforts, including prioritization, execution, and tracking of data initiatives across multiple concurrent workstreams
Produce insights and reporting to inform decision-making, highlighting key trends, risks, and opportunities to senior stakeholders
Foster strong working relationships across client, influencing stakeholders and enabling effective collaboration across Operations, Technology, and CDO teams
Mentor and support junior team members, promoting knowledge sharing, best practices, and a high-performance culture
Promote a culture of accountability, transparency, and continuous improvement, aligned with client's Shared Commitments
Requirements:
Strong understanding of capital markets and client/reference data domains, including corporate structures and industry data sources (e.g., Bloomberg, GLEIF)
Advanced technical expertise in data analysis and remediation, leveraging tools such as SQL (Dremio), Python, Databricks, and Excel
Proven ability to work with large-scale datasets, identify data quality issues, and implement scalable remediation solutions
Strong business acumen and strategic thinking, with the ability to connect data initiatives to business outcomes and risk mitigation
Experience working in data governance, data quality, or master data management environments
Demonstrated ability to lead initiatives and influence stakeholders across multiple functions without direct authority
Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills, with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues
Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Highly developed communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate complex data concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences
Self-starter with a high degree of ownership, accountability, and attention to detail
