  • Position Overview
  • We are currently looking to add a dynamic UVM Technician to our passionate team of environmental professionals.
  • Job Duties
  • + Work with major electric/gas utility system and address its forestry needs + Collect and enter data on handheld devices, follow maps and use GPS navigation + Communicate with landowners regarding work on or near their property + Audit work completed by contractors.
+ Discuss and negotiate line-clearance crew access issues. + Special projects as assigned. + Coordinate with clients, project managers, planners, and vegetation crews + Inspect utility rights of ways and identify vegetation incompatible with state and federal regulations
  • Qualifications
  • Education and Qualifications:
  • An individual must be able to perform each essential job duty consistently and satisfactorily.
The requirements listed are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. + Professional or Collegiate Practical Tree Work Experience + Proficiency with local Tree Identification and Tree Physiology. ISA Certified Arborist or ability to obtain in 6-12 months. Commercial Pesticide Applicator's License. + Current Driver's License and Driving Record in good standing. + Proficient working knowledge of computers. Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, PowerPoint. + Two or four year degree in horticulture, forestry, urban forestry, environmental science or a related discipline + Experience with GIS or other digital mapping software
