Job Description

The Wichita Foundation is seeking a strategic and execution-oriented leader to serve as Director of Strategy and Impact Investing. This role sits at the center of the Foundation's work, ensuring that strategic priorities translate into meaningful, measurable community impact. The Director will oversee programmatic work, including grantmaking and initiatives, while helping the organization build strong systems for performance, learning, and alignment. This leader will also play a key role in advancing the Foundation's use of impact investing and financial tools to complement traditional grantmaking and drive community outcomes. Celebrating our 40th anniversary in 2026, we bring together the resources of individuals, families, and organizations to support nonprofits through grantmaking and invest in community-driven solutions. WF is composed of 275+ funds and assets of $110 million. Each fund represents a unique philanthropic purpose. In

Key Responsibilities Strategy Execution & Alignment Translate organizational priorities into clear, actionable plans Support goal setting (OKRs/KPIs), tracking, and cross-team alignment Ensure coordination across programs, philanthropy, communications, and operations Program & Community Impact Oversight Oversee grantmaking processes, initiatives, and cross-sector partnerships Ensure programs are community-informed, equitable, and outcomes-driven Strengthen systems and processes for effective and transparent program delivery Impact Investing and Financial Strategy Support and help lead the Foundation's impact investing strategy, including: Program-related investments (PRIs), Mission-related investments (MRIs), and other innovative financing tools Contribute to financial analysis, underwriting, and due diligence processes Partner closely with the CFO and investment advisors to align financial strategy with community impact goals Help identify opportunities to deploy capital in catalytic and systems-changing ways Support tracking, evaluation, and reporting on financial and impact performance Organizational Performance & Learning Build and maintain systems for tracking progress, outcomes, and impact Support a culture of continuous improvement, learning, and data-informed decision-making Cross-Functional Leadership Partner across teams to ensure alignment and execution Connect programmatic insights to broader organizational strategy and resource allocation The Ideal Candidate Capabilities Strong strategic and financial thinker Able to connect mission, money, and measurable outcomes Highly organized with strong execution skills Collaborative and solutions-oriented Strong communication skills, including the ability to synthesize and present insights clearly, with a responsive and service-oriented approach to internal and external stakeholders Experience 7-10+ years in strategy, programs, philanthropy or community impact Experience managing complex initiatives or portfolios Exposure to financial analysis, investing, or capital deployment strategies (formal or applied) Experience with grantmaking, public sector, or community-based work Experience with data systems, dashboards, or grant management platforms
Compensation and Benefits Salary Range:
$85,000 - $110,000 Generous PTO package Comprehensive health, dental, and vision coverage FSA and HSA options for flexible healthcare planning Retirement plan with employer contribution Employer-provided life insurance Possible hybrid work environment. Once training period is completed, employee may be eligible to work remotely up to two days per week.
