- 7/5/2026 The Utah Bureau of Forensic Services (UBFS) is looking for a senior business analyst.
This position is integral to the function of the UBFS and involves software support, database management, laboratory information management system (LIMS) maintenance and development, and statistical and data analysis. Principal Duties Adapts automated system(s) to accommodate special and complex agency needs; designs or enhances agency unique automated systems to interface with existing systems as needed Anticipates the impact that new or modified software will have on existing standards and systems Audits and reviews systems and practices to ensure compliance with policies, procedures, regulations and standards Provide user support and system development of the
UBFS LIMS
system Recommends user level computer system enhancements to better meet customer needs The Ideal Candidate
- Retrieve, analyze, and evaluate statistical information by using database software, such as SQL,
- Power BI, Crystal, Excel, and other proprietary programs Support agency-specific software application program(s), such as Porter Lee Corporation
B.E.A.S.T. LIMS
Familiarity with Google Suite, to include Gmail, Sheets, Docs, Forms, Slides Test, evaluate, and diagnose software and applications using appropriate methodology and techniques Coordinate computer systems with other State agencies Communicate information and ideas clearly, and concisely, verbally and in writing; read and understand information presented verbally and in writing Modify and upgrade computer software Work with or contribute to a work group or team to complete assigned task(s) Will have knowledge of: principles, theories, and practices of computer science computer hardware and system development principles, theories, and practices of relational databases, computer data storage, retrieval, and/or restoration About the Role Location
