Job Description
Genesis10 is currently seeking a Senior Business Systems Analyst for a contract position with a Major Healthcare Company located in Eagan, MN. This is a 6+ month contract to hire opportunity. This is a hybrid position.
Compensation:
$65.90 - $75.90 per hour, W2, based on qualifications
Position Overview:
This individual will partner closely with Product Owners, application teams, and Solution Architects to translate business needs into functional and technical API specifications. The ideal candidate brings strong healthcare experience, hands-on knowledge of modern API architecture, and specific experience with FHIR standards. This role is critical in bridging themunication between business and technical teams on API-focused initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
Gather, analyze, document, and manage API business and technical requirements from Product Owners, application teams, and other stakeholders
Partner with Solution Architects and engineering teams to deliver secure, scalable API solutions
Translate business requirements into detailed functional and technical API specifications
Create and maintain user stories, acceptance criteria, process flows, sequence diagrams, and supporting documentation
Define API request and response requirements, data mappings, error-handling requirements, and non-functional requirements
Review API contracts and specifications using OpenAPI/Swagger
Support API lifecycle management, including API design and versioning strategies
Ensure requirements appropriately address sensitive healthcare data, including PII and PHI
Participate in API testing and validation using Postman
Support SIT, UAT, and production-readiness activities
Mentor, lead, and train other team members as needed
Collaborate across business and technology teams throughout the development lifecycle
Primary Requirements:
Senior-level Business Systems Analyst experience withinplex enterprise environments
Healthcare industry experience is required
FHIR knowledge and experience are required
Strong experience with API analysis and design
Strong understanding of REST APIs, JSON, XML payloads, API lifecycle management, and API versioning
Ability to review and interpret OpenAPI/Swagger specifications and API contracts
Experience defining request/response requirements, data mappings, error handling, and non-functional requirements
Understanding of API authentication and authorization concepts, including OAuth 2.0, OpenID, and Auth0 or similar safe and secure environments
Understanding of appropriate PII and PHI handling within healthcare environments
Experience creating user stories, acceptance criteria, process flows, and sequence diagrams
Experience supporting API testing and validation with Postman
Experience supporting SIT, UAT, and production-readiness activities
Strongmunication, analytical, problem-solving, and time-management skills
Creative, curious, self-motivated, andfortable working across both business and highly technical teams
