Selects, purchases and manages products and materials. Responsible for negotiating contracts with vendors and maintaining optimal inventory levels. Research market trends to identify new products and analyze sales data to ensure profitability. Develop vendor relationships, negotiating ricing, contract terms and delivery scheudles. Place orders for goods and services, track shipmets and resolve shipping and billing issues. Monitor stock levels, analyze trends and forecast demand to avoid shortages or overstocking. analyze competitors, attend trade shows and evaluate products to maintain a competitive edge. Manage budges, review costs and ensure maximum return on investment. All other relevant duties as required.
Requirements:
High School Diploma or equivalent required, with Bachelor degree preferred. Education may be considered in place of relevant work experience. 2+ year(s) purchasing experience required, with poultry or meat category market experience preferred. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Proficient technology, computer, mathematical and analytical skills. Strong ability to secure the best prices and favorable terms. Proficient in analyzing sales reports and market trends.
