POSITION SUMMARY
As an Ocean Drayage Specialist, you will work directly with carriers to manage and execute the daily pricing negotiations on behalf of the company. You will be responsible for maintaining accuracy of vendor's information and associated with the rates, and problem resolution. Our Ocean Drayage Specialist thrive in a fast-paced environment and use their strong communication skills to develop and grow relationships with our carriers. PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Handle drayage inquiries and be a deal maker with any opportunities
  • Data entry of each inquiries & quotes with system
  • Primary responsibility is supporting our sales team & Enable Sales to win business through competitive pricing and carrier strategy
  • Coordinate with CSR team. Make clear guidelines about carrier selection
  • Pro-actively monitoring carrier KPIs (on-time delivery, cost efficiency) and drive quarterly improvements and have scorecard quarterly
  • Trouble shooting and resolve quickly
  • Communicate with Overseas offices, CSR team and Sales and collaborate on SOP's
  • Understand where you can grow business - identify opportunities to Sales/BD team
  • Perform other duties as requested or assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
Technical
  • Windows Operating System - Excel/Outlook
  • Advanced computer knowledge/proficiency (Outlook, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint) Business
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Ocean Import experience preferred
  • Must have 3 years dispatching/drayage/trucking experience
  • Must have knowledge of ocean terminals and IPI rail operation
  • Minimum of three years' experience with NVOCC/Freight Forwarding industry
  • Thorough understanding of ocean shipment documentation process
  • Possess excellent data entry skills and customer service skills with the ability
  • Demonstrated critical thinking, using logic and reasoning to identify strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and risks, and identifying alternative solutions or approaches
  • Proven ability to handle confidential information with discretion
  • Experience with tariff sheets and rate contract Human Relations
  • Self-motivated and competitive with strong organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Able to work under pressure and solve problems independently
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and deadline-driven office environment
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
