Job Description

The Senior Buyer is responsible for supporting production lines as well as driving cost savings and support strategic initiatives. Will also serve as mentor and lead to other members of the purchasing organization. _________________________________________________________________________________
Essential Job Functions and Duties:
You will be responsible for identifying, evaluating, and selecting vendors who can provide high-quality products and other supplies at competitive prices. You will also negotiate contracts and agreements with vendors to ensure that the company gets the best possible terms. You will be responsible for placing purchase orders for supplies and parts required for the production of automobile assembly as well as track purchase orders and monitor vendor quality. You will be responsible for managing costs associated with the procurement of commodities. You will work closely with stakeholders to ensure that the company's procurement activities are aligned with its production and financial goals. Develops and maintains relationships with wholesalers and suppliers. Ensure continuous supply of required goods and materials and communicate any supply problems which may pose a risk or impact on business operations. Negotiate contracts, improved prices, and terms of business with suppliers and review opportunities to make business savings utilizing negotiation and procurement best practice tools and methods. Generates cost savings through resourcing, value engineering, and supplier partnership efforts. Comply with Driverge's Core Values (LOVE IT). Complete all other duties as assigned.
Position Qualifications and Entrance Requirements:
Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or 10 years of commensurate experience 5+ years of sourcing experience,
Skills:
Manufacturing environment experience preferred Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills Excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities Proficient in procurement software and systems Analytical mindset with the ability to make data-driven decisions Knowledge of supply chain management principles and practices Strong organizational and time management skills Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
Physical Demands/Work Environment:
Able to work in a fast-paced environment Participate in required company safety programs, trainings, and PPE guidelines.
