Job Overview The Sourcing Specialist is responsible for identifying and sourcing electronic components and materials at competitive rates while supporting high-volume customer quoting activities. This role works closely with suppliers to obtain pricing and lead-time information, perform cost analysis, negotiate favorable terms, and maintain accurate supplier and material data within the ERP system. The Sourcing Specialist partners closely with quoting, purchasing, engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams to ensure timely quote turnaround, informed sourcing decisions, and continuity of supply in support of customer and business requirements.
What You'll Do:
Customer Quoting & CPQ Support Support and enhance customer quoting activities through the CPQ (Configure, Price, Quote) process Provide timely component pricing, lead-time validation, supplier recommendations, and cost analysis Operate with a strong sense of urgency to support time-sensitive customer quote requests and changing business priorities Escalate urgent supplier requests and coordinate with vendors to meet quote turnaround objectives and customer deadlines Supplier Sourcing, Qualification & Management Identify and qualify suppliers capable of meeting the stringent quality and compliance standards required for Mil-Aero manufacturing Conduct supplier research and identify qualified alternative and preferred sources to improve availability, reduce risk, and support competitive customer quotations Negotiate favorable terms and conditions with suppliers, including pricing, delivery schedules, and payment terms, while maintaining strong relationships Monitor supplier capabilities and performance as needed to support business requirements Cost Analysis & Market Intelligence Analyze supplier pricing, cost trends, and price-break opportunities to identify material savings and support accurate cost modeling Monitor market trends, supplier capabilities, and industry developments to identify opportunities for cost savings, risk mitigation, and process improvements
ERP / MRP
System Ownership & Data Management Own and manage supplier and part setup processes within the company's ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) system Maintain and update supplier pricing, lead times, preferred vendors, and material information within the ERP/MRP system Maintain accurate records of supplier contracts, pricing agreements, and procurement activities in the ERP system Cross-Functional Collaboration Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including purchasing, customer quoting, engineering, manufacturing, and quality assurance, to understand material requirements and specifications Support the procurement process from RFQ (Request for Quotation) to PO (Purchase Order) issuance, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies and procedures Performance Monitoring & Strategic Initiatives Monitor sourcing and quoting performance metrics, including: Quote turnaround time Supplier responsiveness Pricing accuracy Cost-saving initiatives Support strategic sourcing initiatives, including supplier rationalization and supply chain optimization projects
Must-Have Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in business or related field or equivalent experience 3+ years of purchasing, sourcing, or supply chain experience, preferably involving electronic components and materials Experience performing supplier research, cost analysis, pricing negotiations, and vendor qualification activities Experience with ERP/MRP systems, preferably M3
Bonus Points If You Have:
