Job Summary We are seeking a Temporary Buyer for a contract opportunity in Goleta, CA supporting procurement operations within the aerospace and defense industry. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented purchasing professional who can step in quickly, support day-to-day buying activities, and help ensure procurement requirements are completed accurately, efficiently, and in compliance with established processes. The Temporary Buyer will work closely with internal program and project teams, suppliers, and procurement stakeholders to obtain quotes, place and track purchase orders, maintain records, and support supplier setup and performance monitoring. Key Responsibilities
- Review, prepare, and execute procurement documents in alignment with internal procedures and purchasing requirements.
- Obtain quotes, create and track purchase orders, and ensure goods and services are purchased on time, to specification, and at competitive pricing.
- Support procurement recordkeeping by maintaining accurate purchase files, supplier documentation, certifications, representations, and related data.
- Validate, assess, and set up new suppliers while developing and maintaining positive supplier relationships.
- Monitor supplier performance, communicate issues as needed, and coordinate with program and project managers to support compliance with established processes.
- Prepare procurement submittals and assist with documentation needed for government and defense-related purchasing activities. Compensation and Benefits
