Position Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Purchasing Specialist to manage and optimize our storeroom inventory, purchasing processes, and supplier relationships. The Purchasing Specialist will be responsible for ensuring product availability, maintaining accurate records, and supporting compliance with company policies and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee and direct storeroom inventory to ensure accuracy and efficient operation. Review and validate open requisitions and order requests. Maintain clear and ongoing communication with internal purchasers and external vendors. Create purchase orders as needed. Generate and analyze daily and monthly reports to maintain up-to-date inventory and purchasing records. Release blocked invoices for payment processing. Organize and post inventory cycle counts, ensuring accuracy. Track and report key metrics, including cycle count accuracy, safety stock adjustments, inventory levels, and bill of materials (BOMs). Reconcile all receipts and documentation for purchases made. Collaborate with salaried supervisor to provide employee training, review step-up cards, and conduct health checks to ensure compliance with company policies (CPS). Ensure adherence to all safety regulations and quality standards throughout the purchasing process. Utilize SAP for all plant purchasing activities.
Qualifications:
Previous experience as a Purchasing Specialist, Inventory Coordinator, or similar role required. Strong experience with SAP and plant purchasing processes preferred. Excellent organizational, communication, and time-management skills. High attention to detail and analytical abilities for running reports and reconciling receipts. Ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Demonstrated commitment to safety and quality standards.
