About TopDeckKeep TopDeckKeep is a fast-growing collectibles company specializing in trading cards, pop-culture collectibles, retail, and live commerce. We connect collectors with the products they love while building strong communities around trading cards, fandom, and collecting. To support our growing demand for inventory, we are expanding our acquisition team. Our Collectibles Acquisition Specialists source and purchase products directly from collectors, dealers, and members of the local community. The Role The Collectibles Acquisition Specialist is responsible for sourcing and purchasing inventory across a variety of collectible categories. The role primarily focuses on acquiring products from collectors, dealers, and other sellers throughout Southern California while also identifying purchasing opportunities online. Acquisition Specialists operate within buying parameters established by the company. These parameters may change frequently based on current inventory levels, product demand, and market conditions. This position requires sound judgment, strong negotiation skills, and the ability to assess the authenticity, condition, and market value of collectible products. Key Responsibilities Source and purchase collectibles from collectors, dealers, and other sellers throughout local and regional markets. Identify purchasing opportunities through online marketplaces, collector groups, trade events, and community networks. Evaluate products for authenticity, condition, market value, and resale potential. Purchase products within company-established buying parameters, which may change based on inventory needs and market conditions. Maintain accurate records of purchases and inventory intake. Represent TopDeckKeep at collectible shows, conventions, and community events. Travel to regional and national collectible shows to support purchasing and inventory-volume goals. Assist with large acquisition opportunities that may require travel between affiliated company locations. Develop lasting relationships with collectors, dealers, and local communities to create consistent purchasing opportunities. Core Product Categories Pokémon cards, including graded cards and raw singles Sports cards, including graded cards and raw singles Magic the Gatherning Cards One Piece, Riftbound, and other TCG's Other trading card games and collectible card products Funko POP! figures Collectible figures and memorabilia Additional pop-culture collectibles Required Qualifications Strong interest in collectibles, trading cards, or pop-culture merchandise. Ability to evaluate products and determine fair market values. Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to work within frequently changing buying parameters and inventory needs. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Comfortable working in a retail and warehouse environment. Reliable transportation and a willingness to travel when required. Ability to lift, carry, and move inventory as needed. Travel Expectations This position may require regular travel to collectible shows and conventions throughout California and in other states. Occasional travel between affiliated company locations in Washington, California, Montana, and Virginia may also be required to support major acquisitions and inventory initiatives. Preferred Experience Experience buying or selling collectibles, trading cards, or similar hobby products. Knowledge of Pokémon, sports cards, Funko, and related collectible markets. Background in retail purchasing, resale, inventory sourcing, or collectible-store operations. Experience attending, purchasing at, or operating within collectible shows and conventions.
