Job Description BAE Systems Space & Mission Systems (SMS) is seeking a highly motivated Strategic Purchasing Analyst Senior to join our team and lead initiatives supporting SMS programs in the procurement of external labor services including: consultants, contractors and intercompany loaned labor. The Strategic Purchasing Analyst Senior will ensure adherence to SMS procurement policies, minimize risk, and guarantee that procurement occurs through appropriate channels. This role is part of the Enterprise Category Team within the broader Integrated Supply Chain Organization. The position is category-specific, focusing on the procurement of external labor in support of company programs and initiatives. It will also leverage general strategic sourcing knowledge and require the application of best practices across key areas of spend. The position is expected to partner with internal stakeholders to understand business unit needs, manage the source-to-pay procurement process, work with external suppliers to source appropriate staffing needs/services, reduce costs, and build a resilient, future-ready supply base. The Operations Strategic Capabilities Unit plays a fundamental role in enabling efficient business and program execution from strategic capital investments, industrial operations and an efficient supply chain, to state-of-the-art manufacturing and test operations and top-notch facilities management. The Integrated Supply Chain team has a direct impact on program success, acting as a critical chain that links the end-to-end material flow together. What Youll Do:
Responsible for supplier sourcing, soliciting and co-leading supplier proposal evaluations, performing risk assessments and tracking performance with the support of the internal business unit. Represent ISC at various levels on cross-functional teams to drive business success; cultivate and maintain working relationships with suppliers, and internal stakeholders. Perform all procurement management functions including: contract creation, modifications, funding management, tracking supplier spend, tracking performance, establishing milestones, ensuring accuracy, and authorizing payment of invoices. Responsible for all aspects of source-to-pay execution from proposal through to service completion. Is the authorized signature authority for assigned procurement functions, and is the contractual point of contact with suppliers. Conduct the contracting process in adherence with US Federal Acquisition Requirements, Public Law, Company and Supply Chain Policies and Procedures Ensure purchase orders are processed accurately and timely. Manage and monitor supplier performance throughout the contractual lifecycle, assessing quality, technical and delivery requirements, resolving issues, and ensuring suppliers meet agreedupon expectations. Build and maintain effective relationships with suppliers, stakeholders, and crossfunctional teams; collaborate to support business objectives, ensure supply chain needs are met, and drive innovative solutions and continuous improvement. Execute RFx processes in alignment with strategic sourcing guidelines. Identify and deliver savings opportunities, process improvements, and enhanced business terms. Negotiate contractual terms and conditions, coordinate and implement contractual additions, deletions, or modifications. Participate in and be a contributor to the Strategic Sourcing and Category Management Teams Identify procurement compliance requirements and obtain necessary approvals. Maintain a regular and predictable work schedule. Establish and maintain effective working relationships within the department, the Strategic Business Units, Strategic Capabilities Units and the Company. Interact appropriately with others in order to maintain a positive and productive work environment. Perform other duties as necessary.
On-Site Work Environment:
This position requires regular in-person engagement by working on-site three or more days each normally scheduled week in the primary work location. Travel and local commute between company campuses and other possible non-company locations may be required.
Working Conditions:
Work is performed in an office environment, laboratory, cleanroom, or production floor. Required Education, Experience, & Skills Bachelors degree plus 4 or more years of related experience. Each higher-level degree, i.e., Masters Degree or Ph.D., may substitute for two years of experience. Related technical experience may be considered in lieu of education. Degree must be from a university, college, or school which is accredited by an agency recognized by the US Secretary of Education, US Department of Education. Ability to effectively relate with others and cooperate as a team member. Ability to build effective relationships at all levels of the organization, using excellent interpersonal organizational and communication skills. Detail-oriented and organized. However, the applicant must be willing and eligible for submission, depending on program requirements, after an offer is accepted and must be able to maintain the applicable clearance/access. Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills Experience procuring external labor, consultants, and business services. Knowledge of, and experience with, Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR). Experience with time and material contracts.
Pay Information Full-Time Salary Range:
$82779 - $140723 Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
