This is a day shift position. Hours are M-F 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM. Pay is $24.00 - $ 28.00 per hour plus applicable bonus and is commensurate with experience. The procurement buyer will require excellent attention to detail and communication skills. Examples of typical duties will include compiling prints, requesting quotes, placing POs, communicating with vendors, following up on delivery dates, and coordinating shipping for equipment. This role will also include basic project and asset management. Communication and schedule management skills will be used daily when discussing requirements with internal customers and external vendors. Essential Functions/ Responsibilities. 1. Responsible for quoting and placing PO's for custom tooling, equipment, hardware, and other miscellaneous items through global vendors 2. Communicate with vendors to ensure on time delivery of components, provide updates to engineering team when there are delays or questions from the vendor 3. Compile print packages with PDF's and solid models to send to vendors for quoting 4. Review purchasing agreements with vendors to ensure terms meet Samtec requirements 5. Ensure equipment is set up with Samtec asset management systems correctly 6. Onboard new equipment through the Samtec tooling qualification process 7. Coordinate shipping and crating for tooling and equipment 8. Ensure proper documentation of assets during equipment transfers. Required Experience:
1. 2 - 5 Years' experience in similar Purchasing role in a highly technical industry 2. Professional knowledge of computer software, including Microsoft Office 3. Demonstrate ability to quickly learn job specific software packages 4. Experience procuring technical components and industrial equipment 5. Knowledge and understanding of terms and conditions 6. Mechanical print reading skills required 7. Excellent organizational, communication (both written and verbal), and people skills 8. Must be detail oriented and concerned with timely handling of requests 9. Project Management training or experience is a plus 10. Strong math skills preferred 11. Solidworks and Solidworks PDM or other CAD software knowledge a plus for accumulation of drawing packages. 12. Strong mechanical aptitude and experience procuring from machine shops is preferred Education High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
