(ND) is actively seeking a Materials Buyer to assist our procurement activities and support our production schedules in a product manufacturing environment, reporting to the Production Manager. The Materials Buyer is responsible for purchasing, planning and scheduling required materials to support the manufacturing operations. This role ensures that production has the right materials at the right time while maintaining optimal inventory levels, meeting customer delivery requirements, and controlling costs. We are a dynamic team of professionals supplying our highly successful technology-based products worldwide. We are seeking an organized, efficient, self-starter with an enthusiastic attitude. Must have product manufacturing purchasing experience. Responsibilities Support daily manufacturing & assembly production requirements and ensure internal and external parts arrive on time for final assembly Purchase all categories of items including office & equipment supplies, raw materials, outside manufacturing processing, finished goods, etc. Effectively negotiate purchases and blanket orders Develop and maintain daily, weekly, and monthly production scheduled based on customer orders, forecasts, and inventory levels Follow plans and procedures to manage inventory on a Lean basis Maintain accurate planning data with the ERP/MRP system Monitor inventory levels and recommend appropriate production quanities to minimize excess inventor while preventing stock shortages Ensure compliance with company policies, quality standards, and safety requirements Other duties reasonably assigned Candidate Requirements Demonstrated purchasing knowledge & skill in a production manufacturing environment MRP/ERP scheduling production related experience BS or As in Business, Supply Chain, Operations with significant experience in a production manufacturing environment preferred Working knowledge of Lean supply chain management methods (JIT, Kanban replenishment, etc.) and Inventory control Proven ability to professionally negotiate supplier arrangements Familiarity with cost effective procurement of outside processing, raw materials, hydraulic, mechanical & electrical components and welded fabrications and welding services 4 plus years in MFG/Production Machine Shop Environment Highly computer literate and efficient, proficiency with MS Office applications, e.g. Word, Excel APICS Certified Supply Chain Professional or equivalent credentials desirable Personal Attributes Self starter, ability to prioritize and work independently to meet critical path production related requirements Fast and accurate - timely & reliably execution of procurement function Ability to effectively communicate, collaborate and interact with internal teams and external suppliers Highest ethical and professional standards Performance and poise while under pressure and when facing deadlines Ability to analyze data and make informed decisions based on market trends and pricing information Well organized with ability to multi-task About US Naiad Dynamics US, Inc. is a well-established Naiad Maritime Group, Inc. company with operations in CT, MD, and FL USA, with affiliated companies in the Netherlands, United Kingdom, France and Australia.
