Job Description

The Buyer is primarily responsible for the acquisition of company materials and services, management of vendors, and monitoring the flow of goods and services in our supply chain. quality, on-time delivery, and cost management are critical to the success of the company and are the main priorities of the Purchasing Agent. Key Responsibilities The list below highlights the essential job responsibilities but is not exhaustive. Utilize MRP software to determine material and service needs Prepare requests for purchase orders Analyze costs and negotiate prices for goods and services Monitor existing orders to ensure on-time deliveries Communicate with vendors regarding delivery schedules, quality issues, and cost concerns Expedite supplier orders as required to support production Build vendor base as required Problem solving Experience with MS Office products (Excel, Word etc.) Prepare cost analysis reports Communicate supply chain information to other departments and management. Personal skills Strong analytical skills Strong problem-solving, time-management, and organizational skills Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal Strong interpersonal skills to deal with people at all levels within the organization and outside. Ability to pay close attention to detail, work under pressure, and meet deadlines. Self-motivated with the ability to organize, prioritize, and manage changing priorities. Experience Requirements 0-3 years working experience in a purchasing/supply planning role MRP/ERP experience is preferred - experience with Epicor is a plus. Education/Certification Requirements Bachelor's degree or higher in Supply Chain, Business, Finance, Economics or Equivalent Following receipt of a conditional offer of employment, candidates will be required to complete additional job-related screening processes as permitted or required by applicable law.
