Job Description

We are looking for a detail-oriented Purchasing Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will oversee procurement activities across multiple office locations, ensuring the seamless acquisition of materials and supplies necessary for our operations. This position offers an opportunity to refine and enhance inventory processes while working in a dynamic environment that includes emergency response and environmental services.
Responsibilities:
Manage purchase orders and requisitions to ensure timely acquisition of materials and supplies. Revamp and establish efficient inventory management processes across three office locations. Collaborate with accounting and operational teams to align purchasing activities with organizational goals. Handle planned and unplanned procurement needs, including urgent purchasing requests. Monitor vendor performance and negotiate contracts to secure favorable terms. Maintain accurate records of purchases, costs, and inventory levels. Utilize Excel to track procurement data and generate reports. Communicate effectively with suppliers to address issues and ensure delivery timelines are met. Provide training and support during transitions to updated inventory and purchasing procedures. Take on additional tasks as needed to support the small department structure. This is a permanent opportunity that will pay up to $65,000 depending upon experience. Please apply to Jane Gearhart if interested! Minimum of 3 years of experience in purchasing or procurement roles. Solid understanding of purchase orders and purchase requisitions. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel Self-motivated and capable of working independently. Strong organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities. Experience in revamping or building inventory processes is highly desired. Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
