This role is responsible for ensuring the timely, cost-effective procurement of products to maintain inventory levels and support customer demand. Responsibilities Manage the purchasing process, including creating and processing purchase orders. Monitor inventory levels, sales trends, and demand to support replenishment and minimize excess inventory. Maintain strong supplier relationships and communicate regarding pricing, availability, lead times, and deliveries. Negotiate pricing, terms, freight, and other purchasing agreements. Track open purchase orders and resolve backorders, shortages, delays, and discrepancies. Identify new suppliers, products, and cost-saving opportunities. Coordinate with warehouse, receiving, sales, and other internal teams to support product availability. Maintain accurate purchasing, vendor, pricing, and inventory information. Analyze purchasing, inventory, sales, and cost data to identify trends and improve performance. Continuously identify opportunities to improve purchasing processes and operational efficiency. Qualifications Experience in purchasing, procurement, inventory management, or supply chain operations, preferably in B2B wholesale distribution or a similar environment. Experience with ERP or purchasing systems. Strong understanding of inventory control, replenishment, supplier management, and logistics. Experience negotiating pricing, terms, and lead times with suppliers. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Strong computer skills and willingness to learn new technology. Excellent attention to detail, organization, communication, and relationship-building skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
