JOB OVERVIEW
Indirect Buyer will be responsible for managing Indirect sourcing activities. Commodities include Professional Services, Tooling, Equipment, Facility Related Services, Construction, and ad-hoc amenities within the Aerospace, Power and Maintenance sector. This is an associate level position within the Supply Chain Organization, which is responsible for procurement (e.g., purchasing and supply chain activities), as well as vendor management (e.g., business requirements gathering, sourcing strategy, competitive and market assessments, negotiation, contracting, and relationships associated with outsourced services).
Responsibilities:
Facilitate new supplier engagements and service/product renewals with a focus on the assigned category and strategic suppliers Serve as a trusted advisor to business stakeholders (Operations, Facility Maintenance, Finance and Business Units) and work collaboratively with colleagues to develop solutions and opportunities for improvement Develop sound sourcing and commodity strategies that drive business value and mitigate risk across the business operations Maximize commercial impact through use of competitive bids and benchmarking/advisory Analyze supplier proposals and negotiate best in class contract terms and value proposition Work cross-functionally Finance, Legal and Contracts to draft and execute contracts, resolve AP issues (if necessary) and similar related tasks Complete documentation and system requirements as required to enable the Source to Pay process
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree preferred and/ 5+ years relevant experience in similar Industrial and/or Aerospace Indirect sourcing positions Able to demonstrate subject matter expertise in at least one or more commodity area: Experience in Professional Services Commodity, including drafting complex Statements of Work Experience in the execution of large and complex OPEX and CAPEX Agreements (e.g Major Equipment, Renovation Programs, mutli-year Facility improvements etc) Commercial negotiation and influencing skills to drive savings and deliver value to stakeholders Experience in contract interpretation, analysis and drafting across Master and Sub-Agreements Strong Sourcing skills and the ability to execute across all elements of the Source to Manage lifecycle. Outstanding interpersonal skills, including the ability to develop and nurture both internal customers and external business and supplier relationships
Key Competencies:
Full proficiency in English, both spoken and written (required) Highly motivated, proactive, and able to take ownership of tasks and projects Strong team player with the ability to build and maintain professional relationships Excellent written and verbal communication skills Strong sense of initiative and urgency Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite Experience with procurement tools Ability to work independently Knowledge of aerospace equipment/tooling and commodities (asset)
