Analytics Full Job Description Summary:
The Purchasing Agent plays a crucial role in managing the procurement process for our organization for our technical project. This position involves sourcing and purchasing materials, supplies, and services necessary for our projects while ensuring cost-effectiveness and quality standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in supply chain management and possess excellent negotiation skills to establish contracts with suppliers. Directly Reports to theSupply Chain Manager Duties and Responsibilities:
- Identify and evaluate potential suppliers to ensure they meet company standards for quality and reliability.
- Negotiate pricing with vendors to secure favorable agreements.
- Manage inventory control processes to maintain optimal stock levels while minimizing excess inventory.
- Assist with packing materials and equipment for projects, ensuring all necessary items are organized, properly secured, and ready for transport.
- Collaborate with various departments to understand their purchasing needs and develop effective sourcing strategies.
- Utilize systems such as Inflow or QuickBooks or equivalent for tracking orders, managing supplier information, and analyzing purchasing data.
- Maintain strong relationships with existing suppliers while continuously seeking new sourcing opportunities.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures related to procurement.
Requirements and Qualifications:
- Associate Degree required in a related filed is required.
- Bachelor's Degree in a related field preferred.
- 5 years of experience in procurement required.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds.
- Ability to work in a warehouse setting.
- Proficiency in materials management and supply chain processes.
- Strong negotiation skills with the ability to influence outcomes effectively.
- Experience in inventory control practices to optimize stock levels.
- Knowledge of e-commerce platforms and their integration into purchasing strategies.
- Familiarity with sourcing methodologies to identify the best suppliers for various needs.
- Ability to work collaboratively across departments while maintaining a focus on organizational goals.
- Excellent analytical skills for evaluating supplier performance and market conditions.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to convey information clearly.
- Bilingual in Spanish or Portuguese.
