Job Description
Gem State Staffing - Payette is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Purchasing Coordinator to join our team. This position is responsible for sourcing, purchasing, and maintaining inventory of parts, materials, and supplies needed to support daily operations. The ideal candidate is organized, has strong communication and negotiation skills, and thrives in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities Purchase parts, materials, and supplies while maintaining quality and cost efficiency. Source new vendors and negotiate pricing, lead times, and terms. Maintain appropriate inventory levels and reorder stock as needed. Process purchase orders and ensure timely delivery of materials. Coordinate with warehouse, maintenance, and production teams to identify purchasing needs. Track orders and resolve shipping delays, shortages, or discrepancies. Verify invoices and reconcile purchase orders with deliveries. Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and vendors. Research alternative products and suppliers to improve costs and availability. Maintain accurate purchasing records and inventory documentation. Assist with annual inventory counts and inventory management initiatives. Follow company purchasing policies and procedures. Qualifications Must have previous experience with Quickbooks software. Previous purchasing, procurement, inventory, or parts experience preferred. Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word). Experience with inventory or ERP software is a plus. Excellent organizational and time management skills. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to prioritize multiple projects and meet deadlines. Effective verbal and written communication skills. Mechanical aptitude or knowledge of industrial, automotive, agricultural, or equipment parts is highly preferred. High school diploma or GED required. Preferred Skills Negotiation and vendor management experience. Knowledge of inventory control principles. Ability to analyze pricing and purchasing trends. Problem-solving and decision-making skills. Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
