BUYER Objective/Scope:

The Buyer is responsible for all purchasing and sourcing activities for the facility. S/he will monitor and maintain the ERP system to ensure appropriate inventory levels for all departments. The Buyer will also play a pivotal role in the Quoting process by sourcing new or alternate materials, tools, and test fixtures. Position in the

• Reports to the

General Manager Responsibilities:

• Utilize MRP to determine required inventory levels for all parts and place corresponding purchase orders
• Source new/alternate parts, tools, and fixtures as required by the Quoting process and production needs
• Manage all MRO inventory levels and place corresponding purchase orders
• Establish relationships with current and new suppliers and negotiate favorable pricing and lead times
• Manage supplier performance as related to quality, on time delivery, and service
• Other duties as assigned

Education and Skills:

• High School Diploma or equivalent, or demonstrated competency in the skills required for the position
• Previous experience with purchasing activities is required
• Previous experience with ERP systems is required
• Ability to read engineering drawings and prints strongly preferred
• Experience in wire harness assembly is preferred, but not required

Technical Requirements:

• Basic computer knowledge is required (i.e. Microsoft Office, ERP software)
• Mechanical/technical aptitude preferred, but not required
• Understanding of measurements and conversions is a plus
