in Geneva, Illinois, United States Job Description Norix designs, manufactures and delivers innovative, robust furniture that meets the real world need for humanizing challenging environments. We have an opening for a Purchasing Agent in our LEED Gold West Chicago facility.

Duties:

Place orders for raw materials & manufactured components. Expedite orders with suppliers as required, to ensure on time delivery, preventing stockouts & production downtime. Track on time & late deliveries. Issue change notifications when required. Responsible for processing rejected material & the return of merchandise. Work with Accounting Department to resolve invoicing issues. Negotiate price, availability, delivery schedules & terms. Review and process proposals and quotes. Set up and monitor blanket orders. Source parts & material via internet, tradeshow, suppliers listing etc. for launching new & existing products. Work with Engineering-on-Engineering Change Notices (ECNs), new part number setups & supplier relationships. Vendor development, sourcing, & relationship management (including vendor visits). Track vendor performance. Communicate with all internal depts to determine any additional purchasing needs. Review requisitions and create purchase orders when needed. Conduct periodic review & analysis of the inventory of slowing moving and critical items. Set up new suppliers and update current suppliers' data. Act as a change agent, supporting project management and strategic initiatives. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

Thorough understanding of commodity management and supply chain practices Ability to interpret MRP signals and manage purchasing activities (e.g., order placement, expediting, and rescheduling) using an MRP workbench or similar ERP tools Ability to professionally communicate (verbal and written) with others at all levels in the company, as well as with external partners. Ability to adhere to the company's attendance policy, including regular and punctual attendance.

Education/Experience:

Experience with furniture, plastics, steel, or wood industries helpful but not required Experience using MRP and/or workbench. Netsuite experience preferred. Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience Minimum of five years previous purchasing experience

Pay/Benefits:

This position is Exempt (not eligible for overtime) The pay range is $63,457 - $76,918 Base plus annual bonus opportunity based on achievement of company goals.
