Job Description
Summary:
Effectively perform all activities related to the purchasing of the necessary commodities, materials and supplies by performing the following duties. Effectively create, maintain, and control bill of materials master files for the company. Develop, determine and supply the organization with accurate component, product and assembly costs for custom and proprietary products. Act as backup for various general accounting functions to the Director of Accounting.Duties and Responsibilities:
Perform ongoing strategic and creative sourcing initiatives that will improve the company's competitive position on the basis of total cost, lead-time and inventory management. Aggressively negotiate best price, terms and delivery. Using the ERP system, place and track purchase orders and assure timely deliveries working from MRP schedules, requisitions, drawings, specifications and the like. Review ERP weekly to determine expedite and/or accelerates and contact vendors; update quantities/dates; assign new parts with vendors; review for discrepancies between ERP and Materials Spreadsheet, and contact Customer Service with necessary additions/changes. Track supplier performance and work with suppliers to improve performance issues as they arise. Contact departments involved when substitutions or alternates may be advantageous, secure samples, arrange for tests when necessary. Maintain inventory accuracy to company standards Communicate and negotiate with suppliers and vendors to purchase materials at lowest prices. Provide assistance in the annual planning for material requirements and departmental budget. Devise, implement, and maintain reporting, scheduling, and operating systems to establish and control proper inventory levels and in-process flow of materials. Analyze, evaluate and recommend disposition of excess and obsolete inventory. Prepares sales quotations for custom and proprietary products by applying manufacturing costs, component costs and standards. Creates and maintains Manufacturing Engineering documentation including part numbers, descriptions, tooling configurations and bills of materials. Oversee BOM and Quoting Coordinates the process of custom color matches for various resins and inks. Orders dies, clichés, artwork for marking department. Perform other duties as assigned.Qualifications:
Education and/or Experience- Minimum of 2 years of college with emphasis in accounting, business administration or supply chain related field. 2 to 5 years of related experience handling materials or purchasing. 2 to 5 years of experience in a manufacturing related position. Experience with IQMS (Delmiaworks) ERP preferred. Certificates/Licenses

- Ability to read, write and interpret documents such as reports, correspondence, multi-level instructions, procedures and requirements and the ability to converse in a way that allows effective transfer of facts, concepts and other information related to the position. Math Skills
- Intermediate mathematical skills required to add, subtract, multiply, divide, work with fractions, decimals, percents and all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, decimals, and ratios as well use a calculator and interpret graphs and tables. Reasoning Skills
- Ability to effectively reason through moderately detailed instructions in combination with the ability to deal with problems involving some concrete variables in standardized situations. Computer Skills

Job Type:
Full-time Pay:
$70,000.00- $80,000.
