Position Summary The Buyer is responsible for sourcing, purchasing, and managing materials required to support manufacturing operations, customer programs, and inventory objectives. This role works closely with suppliers, production planning, engineering, operations, and customer-facing teams to ensure material availability while maintaining cost, quality, and delivery expectations. The ideal candidate will have experience purchasing electronic components, cable and wire products, connectors, harness materials, mechanical components, or other manufacturing-related commodities within an OEM, contract manufacturing, semiconductor, medical, aerospace, defense, or industrial environment. Level placement (Buyer I or Buyer II) will be determined based on experience, technical expertise, and demonstrated procurement capabilities. Key Responsibilities Purchasing & Procurement Execute purchase orders and manage supplier communications to ensure on-time delivery. Source components, raw materials, cable products, harness materials, connectors, and related manufacturing commodities. Monitor supplier performance regarding quality, delivery, responsiveness, and cost. Manage material shortages, expedite orders, and resolve supply disruptions. Review MRP recommendations and translate demand requirements into purchasing actions. Support new product introductions and customer-specific programs through supplier sourcing and procurement activities. Supplier Management Inventory and Planning Support Cross-functional collaboration Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, Operations, or related field preferred. 3-7+ years of procurement or strategic purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment. Experience purchasing electronic components, connectors, wire and cable products, custom assemblies, semiconductor-related materials, or engineered products strongly preferred. Demonstrated experience negotiating pricing, contracts, and supplier agreements. Strong understanding of supply chain planning, inventory optimization, and supplier performance management. Experience supporting OEM, aerospace, defense, medical device, semiconductor, or industrial markets is highly desirable. APICS, ISM, CPSM, or related certifications are a plus.
