Job Description
Position Summary The Purchasing Agent is responsible for sourcing and procuring parts in alignment with ITR requirements, quality standards, and cost objectives. This role manages supplier relationships, purchase orders, inventory replenishment, and delivery performance to ensure timely and cost-effective procurement activities. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, and proactive, with strong communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills in a fast-paced environment. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Minimum of 1 year of purchasing, procurement, inventory control, or related business experience preferred. Monitor inventory levels for assigned materials and initiate purchase orders to maintain adequate stock and uninterrupted supply. Source parts and request quotations from suppliers while evaluating pricing, lead times, quality, availability, and service performance. Prepare, issue, and manage purchase orders in accordance with company policies and specifications. Develop and maintain strong working relationships with suppliers, vendors, and internal departments to support business operations. Track open purchase orders, expedite deliveries when necessary, and coordinate with vendors and carriers to ensure on-time receipt of materials. Review and assist in negotiating pricing, freight terms, payment terms, and delivery schedules to support cost savings and operational efficiency. Collaborate with sales, operations, and warehouse teams to align purchasing activities with customer and business demands. Investigate and resolve supplier-related issues involving shortages, delivery delays, invoicing discrepancies, damaged goods, or quality concerns. Analyze purchasing trends, inventory usage, and supplier performance to identify opportunities for process improvement and cost reduction. Maintain accurate purchasing records, documentation, and reporting within company systems. Support continuous improvement initiatives and perform additional duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or GED required. Minimum of 1 year of purchasing, procurement, inventory control, or related business experience preferred. Working knowledge of purchasing procedures, inventory management, and order processing. Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines. Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with suppliers and cross-functional teams. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities with close attention to detail. Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a team-oriented environment. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, and Excel. Experience with ERP or inventory management systems preferred.
Pay:
$50,000.00 - $51,000.00 per year
