Buyer Indianapolis, IN, United States | req28512 What you will enjoy doing• You will be responsible for soliciting & analyzing quotations, negotiating purchases, selecting suppliers & contractors, reviewing, creating, and approving purchase order transactions through Oracle to ensure timely supply of business materials and contractor services In this role you will monitor open orders, drive order execution, and communicates status to internal stakeholders Building business relationships and leverage the global supply base to promote procurement efficiencies and execute purchases with terms most favorable to the business Further, you will identify new vendors & materials and work cross functionally to expand sourcing options You will help Identify improvement opportunities in the procurement function and actively participate in business productivity and operational excellence initiatives Coordinate with the finance organization to establish and maintain supplier profiles as well as resolve supplier payment issues You will utilize various tools to maintain inventory levels according to business needs What makes you great You have a High School degree or equivalent required with more than three (3+) years of work experience in Purchasing, Quality, Customer Service or Manufacturing Four-year degree in Supply Chain Management, Business or Engineering preferred but not required Displays a strong ability and track record of effectively organizing and prioritizing tasks to meet business goals Prior experience with an Oracle ERP system preferred You have a strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint applications Exhibits strong analytical, negotiation, and communication skills Ability to travel up to 10% for supplier visits and site audits as needed by the business Why you will love working with us Linde Advanced Material Technologies, formerly Praxair Surface Technologies, is a company that revolutionizes industries through innovative materials and surface coatings.
