Job description Long Motor Corporation, dba LMC Truck, is looking for a Purchasing Agent to be responsible for buying domestic/International aftermarket truck parts by purchasing inventory using the most cost-effective methods, maintaining prescribed inventory levels while upholding positive relationships with product suppliers. Candidates must have experience buying automotive products from both domestic and international vendors. This is NOT a remote position. Office is located in Lenexa KS.
What you will do:
Create and verify purchase orders with suppliers. Correspond with vendors via phone or email regarding the purchase process and resolving issues. Maintain a good working relationship with vendors. Organize work in an efficient manner through use of best practices for filing documentation. Track inventory trends and changes in procurement data. Use appropriate applications to determine appropriate inventory levels, create purchase orders, and monitor activity. Must be able to understand and "read" safety stock and how lead times impact inventory. Review daily and/or weekly reporting regarding fill percentages, customer back-orders, product ETAs, cross-buy opportunities, receiver exceptions, purchase acknowledgements, prepaid invoices, etc. Provide key vendors with insight to future inventory needs and pricing expectations. Work with finance department in assisting with matching purchase orders, invoices, and receivers.
Attention to detail:
Identify and resolve errors and discrepancies with suppliers both before and after shipments. Authorizes payment for purchases by forwarding invoices to finance. One must have flexibility to vary work hours based on business need. Performs other related duties as required and assigned. Self-motivate to work independently and with team members as required.
Education & Experience:
Extensive knowledge of distribution automotive, preferred truck product. Strong negotiation skills required. Experience handling $5 million+ inventory. Experience in purchasing for both domestic/international. Basic knowledge of auto parts preferred but not required. Microsoft Excel
  • 3 years preferred Purchasing
  • 3 years preferred Negotiation
  • 3 years preferred Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Skills in the Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel. Ability to move throughout the building, including the warehouse Ability to speak to and hear employees, customers, vendors, and co-workers Ability to bend/lift, up to 25 lbs.

$55,000.00
