Job Description

General Position Summary The Procurement Assistant & Translator serves a dual role supporting communication between Aisan expatriates and FPI staff through professional interpretation and translation, while also coordinating supply base development total cost management, and the Procurement process for selected purchased direct materials, component parts and/or assemblies. Essential Functions Translation & Interpretation Interpret during on-site/off-site meetings and on the production floor. Translate technical and general documents as requested. Assist expatriates and their families with U.S. transition needs, including medical appointments, housing, banking, and government documentation (e.g., Social Security Cards, Driver s Licenses). Provide accurate, impartial, and confidential interpretation. Maintain and set up translation equipment (e.g., headsets) and support plant tours and VIP visits. Procurement Assistant Compile data and records to support the Procurement Department mission. Data may include charts, graphs, spreadsheets, or Microsoft PowerPoint presentations. Maintain accurate data in XA purchasing software system. Enter, transmit, and confirm purchase orders. Contact suppliers to collect survey data or communicate FPI Procurement initiatives, per Manager or General Manager s direction. Manage departmental filing systems. Maintain a schedule of all important departmental deadlines. Support event planning as required. Manage Conflict Mineral supplier data to customer Manage tariff impact mitigation Supports Kaizen and continuous improvement activities to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and improve processes Other duties as assigned. Job Dimensions (Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities or KSAs) Excellent oral and written communication skills Proficient in constructing analytical tools for decision making using Microsoft Office Suite. Technical aptitude and inclination. Strong interpersonal skills; able to forge internal customer and external supplier relationships Deadline and results-oriented Working knowledge of budgeting methods and financial controls. Fluent in English and Japanese (spoken and written). Strong technical vocabulary in manufacturing and engineering contexts. Intermediate to advanced Excel and data management skills. Minimum Qualifications Education Requirements High School Diploma required Technical school or college training in office technologies or office administration preferred.
