Up to 10% Position Summary Snelling Staffing is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Buyer for a growing manufacturing organization in the Louisville area. This position is responsible for purchasing materials, equipment, and supplies while maintaining strong supplier relationships and ensuring optimal quality, delivery, and cost performance. The ideal candidate will have experience in procurement, inventory planning, or supply chain operations within a manufacturing environment and possess strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills. Key Responsibilities Process purchase requisitions and purchase orders in a timely manner while ensuring quality, cost, and delivery objectives are met. Develop and maintain strong supplier relationships to improve lead times, pricing, service levels, and product quality. Monitor and track supplier performance metrics, purchasing activities, and pricing trends. Maintain accurate open purchase orders and inbound inventory schedules. Collaborate with internal departments to expedite orders and resolve supply chain disruptions. Source alternative suppliers when necessary to minimize production interruptions. Stay informed of market conditions that may impact pricing, lead times, and material availability. Maintain accurate supplier and item data within the ERP system. Prepare and process Requests for Quotation (RFQs). Expedite critical materials and provide updates regarding delayed shipments and backorders. Work closely with Accounts Payable and vendors to resolve invoice discrepancies. Ensure compliance with company policies, purchasing procedures, and regulatory requirements. Support continuous improvement initiatives within procurement and supply chain operations. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Operations, or a related field preferred. Minimum of 2 years of purchasing, procurement, inventory planning, or supply chain experience in a manufacturing environment. Proven ability to manage supplier relationships and achieve delivery, quality, and cost objectives. Experience handling multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Strong project management and organizational skills. Experience resolving material shortages, quality issues, and delivery challenges. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel. Experience using Oracle or a similar ERP system preferred. Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications is a plus. Experience working with long-lead-time materials preferred. Aftermarket or service parts purchasing experience is beneficial. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Ability to work independently and collaboratively across departments. Demonstrated negotiation and relationship-building skills.
