PM Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and proactive Indirect Buyer to support our manufacturing operations by sourcing and purchasing critical MRO supplies, spare parts, equipment services, packaging materials, and other indirect goods and services. This role is ideal for a procurement professional who understands industrial purchasing, supplier management, and the importance of keeping production running efficiently. The successful candidate will work closely with maintenance, engineering, production, and suppliers to secure the right products and services at the best value while ensuring timely delivery and uninterrupted plant operations
Preferred:
Automotive manufacturing experience. Maintenance or technical purchasing experience. Knowledge of MRP/MPS processes. Familiarity with industrial supplier networks and sourcing tools
Responsibilities:
Procurement & Supplier Management:
Manage end-to-end purchasing activities for MRO supplies, spare parts, packaging, facility services, mold maintenance, and other indirect materials and services. Source, evaluate, and select qualified suppliers based on quality, cost, delivery, and service performance. Obtain quotations, analyze bids, and negotiate competitive pricing, terms, and delivery schedules. Build and maintain strong supplier relationships to support operational needs.
Purchase Order & Inventory Support:
Create and manage purchase orders through the ERP system. Ensure timely order placement and follow up with suppliers to prevent production interruptions. Support inventory management of critical spare parts and frequently used MRO items. Resolve delivery, quality, and invoicing issues quickly and effectively.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Partner with Maintenance, Engineering, Production, and Operations teams to define specifications and purchasing requirements. Maintain accurate purchasing records and supplier information within the ERP system. Provide purchasing support for direct materials when needed and assist with supplier coordination activities.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Business, Technical Studies, or a related field preferred. 2+ years of purchasing, procurement, or buying experience in a manufacturing, industrial, automotive, or production environment. Experience sourcing one or more of the following: MRO supplies Spare parts Industrial equipment Repair services Packaging materials Strong supplier negotiation and contract management skills. Ability to interpret basic technical specifications and communicate effectively with technical teams and suppliers. Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and ERP systems. Experience with SAP is a plus. #HSM125
