Southfield, MI Job Details 1 day ago Qualifications Vendor relationship building Microsoft Excel Customer service Administrative experience Data management Supply chain management Productivity software Manufacturing Manufacturing company experience Procurement negotiation Full Job Description Position Summary The Sourcing Analyst plays a key role in supporting the Chemical Management and Business Development Teams by managing vendor relationships, driving cost savings initiatives, optimizing category management, and maintaining product catalogs. The role also assists with new sourcing bids and ensures efficient procurement processes. Responsibilities and Duties Facilitate new sourcing requests for key distribution accounts. Identify alternative materials and suppliers as requested by Operations. Manage category portfolios for top suppliers of the category assigned. Develop and maintain effective, long-term supplier relationships. Conduct regular supplier meetings to strengthen relationships and address concerns. Manage vendor price files, ensuring accurate cost data in Sage to support Operations and reduce discrepancies. Conduct spend analysis, strategy planning, and bid list sourcing. Assist with special projects and other duties as required. Establish and maintain strong communication channels with colleagues, business partners, account holders. Provide support to the Sourcing Group when needed. Lead and participate in cost-saving initiatives, ensuring active involvement in projects to drive procurement efficiency. Collaborate on the Quarterly Market Report, detailing supplier performance, price fluctuations, shortages, and market trends for assigned categories. Perform data cleaning tasks, including weekly item setup audits, to maintain data integrity. Oversee email inboxes, managing tasks related to item codes, vendor creation, and supply chain issues.
Job Requirements Education:
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Purchasing, or a related field preferred, or equivalent experience.
Industry Knowledge:
Experience in the chemical and manufacturing inductries and understanding of chemical supply chains.
Skills:
Strong negotiation skills, especially with large corporations. Ability to collaborate with technical and administrative teams. Excellent organizational and multi-tasking abilities. Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Strong data management and administrative skills. Ability to meet strict deadlines and proactively address issues. Exceptional customer service and communication skills. Work Environment Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic, fast-paced setting. This role operates in both manufacturing and office environments. Regular use of office equipment, including computers, phones, and photocopiers. Adaptability and a strong focus on teamwork. Travel Requirements Occasional overnight travel (less than 5%).
