Job Description

Who we are. Grain Millers, Inc. is a leading manufacturer and merchandiser of whole grain ingredients utilized in food products served around the world. While you may not know us directly, you almost certainly know our products. We have supplied food and dairy ingredients to virtually every large food company in the world for 40 years. We employ nearly 1000 associates throughout North America. Our Eden Prairie, MN headquarters is the hub of our support infrastructure. Our manufacturing facilities are in MN, IA, WI, IN, OR and Canada. Why we need you. We're looking for a detailoriented and servicefocused Procurement Assistant to support our daytoday customer, procurement, and administrative operations. In this role, you'll be a key point of contact for customers and internal teams-helping ensure orders, shipments, invoicing, and documentation are handled accurately and efficiently. Your work will play an important role in keeping products moving, customers informed, and processes running smoothly. Who you'll be working with. You'll work closely with the Lead Procurement Assistant, grain buyers, sales staff, vendors, growers, and logistics partners. This role collaborates across departments including accounting, sales, logistics, and operations, and serves as a dependable resource for both internal teams and external customers. Who you are. You communicate clearly, handle sensitive issues professionally, and take pride in accuracy and followthrough. You're comfortable working independently, but you also enjoy being part of a team and stepping in where needed. When problems arise, you approach them with a solutionoriented mindset and a positive attitude.
Key responsibilities include:
Providing customer service support for inquiries related to orders, shipments, invoicing, products, and complaints Entering, updating, and verifying customer orders for accuracy in pricing, quantities, and delivery dates Coordinating shipment timing and logistics and communicating updates to customers and internal teams Processing vendor tickets, invoices, inventory entries, and supporting accounts receivable followup Maintaining accurate documentation, including customer files, organic certifications, and contracts What you bring You bring strong administrative, customer service, and organizational skills, along with the ability to handle detailed work in a fastpaced environment.
Requirements include:
Two years of posthighschool education or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook, with strong data entry and accuracy skills Basic accounting skills, including the ability to calculate figures and understand pricing and invoicing Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with customers, vendors, and third parties High attention to detail, motivation, and initiative What We Offer Grain Millers, Inc. offers a competitive compensation and benefits package including medical; dental; vision; disability and life insurance.
