Job Summary The Senior Buyer develops and maintains a supplier base that supports company objectives regarding quality, cost, and production requirements in accordance with company policies and procedures. Essential Functions Coordinates activities involved with procuring goods and services, such as raw materials, equipment, tools, parts and supplies. Confers with vendors to obtain product or service information, such as price, availability, and delivery schedule. Selects products for purchase by testing, observing, or examining items. Estimates values according to knowledge of market price. Determines method of procurement, such as direct purchase or bid. Prepares purchase orders or bid requests. Reviews bid proposals and negotiates contracts within budgetary limitations and scope of authority. Maintains manual or computerized procurement records, such as item or services purchased, costs, delivery, product quality or performance, and inventories. Discusses defective or unacceptable goods or services with inspection or quality control personnel, users, vendors, and others to determine source of trouble and take corrective action. Monitors vendor performance and makes recommendations for change based on activity. May approve invoices for payment. May expedite delivery of goods to users. The exact salary may be determined on a combination of factors including the candidate's knowledge, experience, skills, abilities, and education. Employees at our die casting facility can gain experience in multiple areas of manufacturing including aluminum and zinc die casting, CNC machining, automation, and quality control. We have over 100,000 square feet of manufacturing space with the capacity and capability to service a diverse set of customers and industries. Kurt Die Casting features 20 CNC machining centers and 15 die casting machines ranging in size from 500 to 1,200 tons.
