Monday - Friday Position Summary The Buyer is responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing materials, products, and services to support production operations. This role ensures optimal pricing, quality, and delivery performance while maintaining strong supplier relationships and aligning with organizational goals. Success in this role is measured through cost savings, supplier performance, and operational efficiency.

Responsibilities:

Operational Execution Issue and manage purchase orders to ensure timely and accurate procurement Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with internal teams to meet demand requirements Track orders and proactively resolve delivery, quality, and invoice discrepancies Maintain ERP system related to part pricing Monitor MRP signals and adjust accordingly based on demand changes Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers based on cost, quality, service, and reliability Cross-Functional Coordination Work closely with Production, Quality, and Engineering to resolve constraints. Qualifications Education Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations, or related field (or equivalent experience) Experience 2-5+ years of purchasing or procurement experience in a manufacturing environment Experience working with MRP/ERP systems in a production setting Preferred Skills Experience with metal fabrication, electrical assemblies, or industrial manufacturing Understanding of bills of materials (BOMs), production workflows, and manufacturing drawings. Experience supporting lean manufacturing or continuous improvement initiatives APICS (CPIM/CSCP) or Institute for Supply Management CPSM certification Key Competencies Strong planning and organizational skills Ability to anticipate and prevent supply disruptions Cross-functional collaboration (production, engineering, quality) Data-driven decision making Attention to detail and urgency in execution Maintain a high level of integrity with both the MEI team and suppliers.
