Job Description

Job Description Locate vendors of materials, equipment or supplies to develop and implement purchasing instructions, policies, and procedures while purchasing the highest quality product and the lowest possible price.
Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with vendors to determine product availability, terms of sales, quantities, and lead times.
  • Manage the purchase order cycle
  • Participate in the development of specifications for equipment, products or substitute materials.
  • Analyze market and delivery systems to assess current and future material availability.
  • Prepare purchase orders, solicit bid proposals and review requisitions for goods and services.
  • Research potential vendors based on price, quality, selections, service, support, availability, reliability, production and distribution capabilities, reputation, and history.
  • Analyze price proposals, other data and information to determine reasonable prices.
  • Monitor and follow applicable laws and regulations.
  • Negotiate, or renegotiate, contracts with vendors and other representatives.
  • Monitor shipments to ensure goods are delivered on time and follow up with undelivered items.
  • Maintain records of items purchased, costs, deliveries, product performance, and inventories.
  • Discuss unacceptable goods or services with vendors and staff.
  • Create profitable ways to manage slow moving stock.
  • Manage shipping and receiving of inventory and sales
  • Other duties as assigned Requirements
  • Bachelors Degree in Business Administration or related field
  • Experience with purchasing, inventory, and a manufacturing environment
  • Knowledgeable of supply chain management and logistics.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft office
