Job Description
Purchasing Agent (On‑Site | Hourly Paying Role | Bonus Eligible) Overview Aston Carter is partnering with a leading client to hire a Purchasing Agent responsible for full‑cycle procurement activities, including supplier selection, purchase order management, expediting, and coordination with operations. This role works closely with internal teams and external vendors to ensure materials and services are purchased accurately, delivered on time, and aligned with production requirements. The Purchasing Agent will also contribute to ongoing process‑improvement initiatives within the purchasing function. Responsibilities + Respond to requisitions for materials and services promptly and professionally. + Generate RFQs , evaluate supplier responses, and select vendors based on price, quality, and delivery. + Create, issue, and manage purchase orders from initiation through receipt. + Work directly with vendors to resolve pricing, delivery, and quality issues; communicate order status to internal stakeholders. + Maintain accurate vendor, product, and purchasing data within NetSuite and other procurement systems. + Partner with operations and shop leadership to provide updates on delivery schedules and material availability. + Support inventory planning by ensuring timely purchasing aligned with production needs. + Participate in continuous‑improvement efforts to enhance purchasing processes and service levels. + Maintain consistent attendance, meet deadlines, and contribute to a collaborative team environment. + Utilize Excel and other tools to track, analyze, and report on purchasing activity. + Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned. Qualifications + Two‑ to four‑year degree and/or 3-5 years of purchasing or procurement experience. + Hands‑on experience managing the full purchasing cycle from requisition through receiving. + Experience generating and managing RFQs/RFPs. + Direct vendor‑facing experience, including expediting and issue resolution. + Strong attention to detail and accuracy in documentation and data entry. + Ability to manage multiple vendors, purchase orders, and priorities simultaneously. + Proficiency with NetSuite or similar ERP/purchasing systems. + Strong Excel skills and general computer proficiency. + Effective communication and interpersonal skills for working with internal teams and external suppliers. + Strong organizational and problem‑solving abilities with the ability to meet deadlines. Preferred Skills + Experience supporting inventory planning and coordination with operations. + Vendor negotiation experience related to pricing, delivery, and service. + Supporting multiple internal departments in a manufacturing or operations‑focused environment. + Demonstrated involvement in continuous‑improvement initiatives. + Ability to work independently and within a cross‑functional team. Work Environment This is a 100% on‑site role in a modern, newly renovated office environment with regular cross‑department interaction.

Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $72800.00 - $93600.00/yr.
