Packaging Buyer

Opal Foods is adding to the team with a great opportunity for a Packaging Buyer. Reporting to the Procurement Manager, the Packaging Buyer will track, manage and order all packaging materials for the locations assigned to them. Essential Job Functions - Must be able to perform these tasks with or without reasonable accommodations. Monitor ordering and storage of inventory for assigned plants Work with receiving department managers to ensure necessary items are in stock Assist/schedule delivery appointments for incoming packaging loads for plants assigned Maintain packaging calendars for plants assigned Constantly working to reduce warehousing costs Work with Sales and Customer Service to accurately forecast future packaging needs Maintain and implement comprehensive policies and procedures for inventory control to manage the flow of supplies and merchandise Serve as backup for Procurement Manager Other Responsibilities Other duties and projects may be assigned based on company needs. Qualifications - Education/Experience/Knowledge/Skills/Abilities High School Diploma or equivalent required Demonstrated ability to work independently Demonstrated ability to multi-task Effective team skills Effective communication skills towards all levels of the organization Professional and courteous approach to interacting with customers and internal stakeholders Demonstrated ability to analyze data and make effective decisions based on data provided Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Must be proficient in use of Excel spreadsheets Demonstrated ability to effectively speak, read, and write in English Preferred Qualifications - Education/Experience/Knowledge/Skills/Abilities Bachelor's Degree preferred Previous experience in the commercial egg industry preferred Previous experience in purchasing or procurement related roles preferred
