Buyer Job Description The Buyer is responsible for sourcing, purchasing, and managing materials, products, or services needed to support business operations. This role involves close collaboration with suppliers, internal stakeholders, and supply chain partners to ensure that cost, quality, and delivery objectives are met. Responsibilities Source and procure materials, components, or services in line with demand and inventory plans. Issue and manage purchase orders; track open orders and resolve delivery issues. Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts with suppliers to optimize cost and service levels. Analyze market trends, supplier performance, and spend data to identify savings opportunities. Maintain accurate purchasing and vendor records in ERP systems. Collaborate with planning, operations, finance, and quality teams to support business needs. Ensure compliance with company policies and procurement best practices. Essential Skills Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Finance, or related field (or equivalent experience). 2-5+ years of experience in purchasing, procurement, or buying. Strong negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Experience working with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, D365, etc.). Proficiency in Excel and data analysis. Strong communication and vendor management skills. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience in manufacturing, distribution, or regulated environments. Familiarity with inventory management and demand planning concepts. Work Environment The position requires working from Monday to Friday during standard business hours in an office environment. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Saint Charles, MO. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $31.00 - $31.00/hr.
