Job Description
A growing, employee-owned organization supporting the construction and AEC industry is seeking a Purchasing Agent to join its team in Granite City, IL. The ideal candidate will have 1-3+ years of purchasing, procurement, accounting, or related experience and be comfortable managing purchase orders, communicating with vendors, obtaining quotes, and coordinating material and equipment deliveries. Construction experience is preferred but not required. Candidates with strong purchasing experience and an interest in learning the construction industry are encouraged to apply. Responsibilities
- Process material and equipment rental purchase orders.
- Obtain material and rental quotes from multiple vendors.
- Evaluate vendors based on reliability, quality, availability, and cost.
- Enter and maintain purchase orders in the accounting system.
- Work directly with vendors to place orders.
- Verify order pricing and delivery information.
- Reconcile vendor order acknowledgements.
- Coordinate with Project Managers to obtain purchasing details.
- Work with vendors and warehouse/shop personnel to confirm deliveries.
- Maintain accurate purchasing documentation. Qualifications
- 1-3+ years of purchasing/procurement experience preferred.
- Accounting or related experience will also be considered.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience working directly with vendors.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Microsoft Office proficiency, including Excel.
- Construction industry experience preferred.
- Basic knowledge of PVF materials—pipe, valves, and fittings—is a plus.
- Vista by Viewpoint is a plus.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

- $55,000-$65,000 Base Salary
