4/15/2025 Job Summary The Pharmacy Runner/Technician supports pharmacy services by ensuring that medications and related materials are delivered to patients and healthcare providers in a timely manner under the direct supervision of the Pharmacist, while also completing tasks like restocking supplies, maintaining inventory, and providing excellent customer service. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Transport prescriptions and other pharmacy-related items to patients, healthcare providers, and other departments within SCRMC hospital and outside clinics/facilities Ensure timely and accurate delivery of items, minimizing delays or errors Maintain a clean, organized, and HIPAA-compliant work environment Assist in organizing and restocking inventory and pharmacy supplies Answer telephone calls and requests at the pharmacy pickup/drop off window Process payments for pharmacy sales using the pharmacy's point-of-sale system Prepare and label prescription medications accurately and efficiently Maintain records or other required documentation accurately Contribute to the effective operation of the department Comply with all state and federal pharmacy regulations and company policies Perform all duties in a manner to enhance the image of South Central Regional Medical Center Qualifications Education and Experience High school diploma or equivalent Previous experience in a pharmacy or healthcare setting preferred Experience with pharmacy management software is a plus Licensure/Certifications Licensed with the Mississippi Board of Pharmacy Valid driver's license Minimum Requirements Excellent communication and customer service skills Strong attention to detail and accuracy Knowledge of common medications, their classifications and uses Knowledge of pharmacy laws and regulations Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment Ability to adapt to changes in workload/duties Basic math and computer skills Dependable, punctual, and professional Working Conditions This position requires frequent standing, walking, bending, and lifting up to 30 pounds. There are weekly scheduled deliveries to outside clinics, requiring driving up to a 10-mile radius. Work is performed in a pharmacy or patient care setting and includes frequent interaction with pharmacists, technicians, patients and medical staff.
Work Schedule:
Monday through Friday, 9-5:30 Occasional weekend or holiday
