Job Description

We are searching for an experienced and detail-oriented Purchasing Agent to join our team. An exceptional candidate will play a pivotal role for sourcing materials, managing supplier relationships, maintaining inventory levels, and supporting multiple projects simultaneously while ensuring cost-effective and timely procurement. Responsibilities Purchase raw materials, components, and supplies required for manufacturing operations. Manage multiple open projects and priorities simultaneously while meeting deadlines. Create, issue, and track purchase orders through Sage 100, Acumatica, or other ERP systems. Monitor inventory levels and proactively order materials to prevent shortages and production delays. Analyze demand, lead times, usage trends, and inventory requirements to make informed purchasing decisions. Develop and maintain strong relationships with vendors and suppliers. Negotiate pricing, delivery schedules, and terms to achieve the best value for the company. Communicate effectively with production, engineering, sales, customer service, vendors, and customers regarding material availability and project status. Verify order accuracy, maintain purchasing records, and resolve discrepancies promptly. Utilize measurements, counts, specifications, and product knowledge to ensure proper quantities are ordered. Support continuous improvement efforts related to purchasing, inventory management, and supplier performance. Requirements Minimum 5 years of purchasing experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment. Experience using Sage 100, Acumatica, or similar ERP/MRP software. Strong understanding of purchasing, inventory control, and supply chain processes. Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage several projects at once. Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy. Effective verbal and written communication skills. Ability to read specifications, drawings, and bills of materials. Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Office applications. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
