Durham, NC or Cibolo, TX Position Responsibilities The incumbent is expected to perform the following functions that the company has determined are essential to this position: Issue purchase orders for MRO items that support cost, quality and delivery goals. Work with Manufacturing, Engineering, Maintenance and act to deliver cost savings. Negotiate cost savings/cost avoidance with suppliers. Support inventory reduction initiatives. Build long-term supplier partnership relationships. Other tasks and duties as assigned.
Required Skills and Abilities Essential Skills and Experience:
Knowledge of MRP systems. Experience in purchasing with an understanding of MRO. Good interpersonal skills. Read and understand blueprints. Solicit/analyze proposals to achieve lowest total cost objectives. Generate/disseminate required documents through the use of Oracle, Microsoft Office, and related systems, and effectively communicate throughout. Understanding of manufacturing processes. Proficient in Excel and PowerPoint. Beneficial Skills and Experience Previous MRO purchasing Automotive Purchasing experience Direct Materials Purchasing experience Understanding of commodity market trends Working knowledge of ERP procedures/concepts Education/Training/Certifications Associate's degree preferred.
Requirements:
Travel Requirements Approximately 10 % Must be willing and available to travel to such locations and with such frequency as is necessary and desirable to meet business needs. Attendance/Work Hour Requirements Must maintain an acceptable attendance record. Must be willing and available to work weekends and holidays as necessary and desirable to meet business needs.
