Job Description

This is an onsite role at our Elon, North Carolina campus with a base schedule of Monday through Friday, first shift.
SCOPE :
The Buyer position is a highly visible position with primary responsibility to support daily production requirements across multiple manufacturing locations. This position partners with Operation's Planning community to successfully execute the business plan to provide world class customer service. O. ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Day to day procurement activities to ensure on time deliveries, inventory levels and supplier relationship management. Responsible for independently purchasing a wide array of inventory items using ERP Improve supplier performance by monitoring quality, cost, delivery, and inventory metrics. Assure replenishment parameters are maintained by purchasing to support customers and inventory management and optimization Works with suppliers for improvement opportunities in terms of cost, quality, delivery and lead time Resolve pricing and receiving discrepancies with vendors, coordinate with accounts payable department
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain, logistics, quantitative fields or equivalent work experience. 3-5 years of purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment, preferred.
Computer savvy:
Knowledgeable with ERP, Excel, MS Office Suite, etc. Ability to read engineering blueprints and understand manufacturing processes. Self-driven, results-oriented with a positive outlook. Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal). Professional phone etiquette is a must. Self-motivated and possesses the ability to complete tasks on-time and with little to no supervision. Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing concepts preferred. Advanced knowledge of purchasing terminology and practices analytical, mathematical skills negotiation skills and application of purchasing cost reduction methods Material requirements planning (MRP) system proficiency
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
APICS/CPM/CPIM/CSCP or equivalent certification desirable.
