Procurement Specialist Location:
Mills River Compensation:
Up to $26/hr Position Summary Under the direction of the Operations Manager, this position is responsible for organizing, developing, and leading the production function while managing procurement activities. This role ensures company goals are met by promoting safety, quality, and production efficiency. The ideal candidate will bridge the gap between supply chain and the shop floor, ensuring a consistent flow of materials and communication across all cross-functional groups. Key Responsibilities Production & Leadership Assist the Operations Manager with ensuring safe production, meeting daily schedules, and assigning job duties. Lead by example, holding the team accountable for safety, quality, delivery, and cost. Ensure proper control and identification of inventory and Work-in-Progress (WIP) . Support the Quality Management System (QMS) , including transitioning toISO 9001
2015/AS9100 and leading internal audits. Purchasing & Supply Chain Execute purchase orders and track shipments to ensure zero production downtime. Evaluate vendor performance and negotiate pricing to optimize manufacturing cost-efficiency. Coordinate with production to align raw material acquisition with real-time manufacturing schedules. Monitor inventory levels to balance production needs with lean manufacturing goals.Requirements Education:
High School Diploma or GED. Minimum of 1+ years of purchasing experience specifically within a manufacturing setting . 2+ years' total experience in a manufacturing environment with previous leadership responsibilities. Proficiency in ERP/MRP systems and accurate production reporting. Strong time management, logical decision-making, and the ability to motivate others with fairness and respect.Quality Standards:
Familiarity with ISO 9001 or AS9100 standards is highly preferred.Compensation / Pay
