Job Summary The Buyer is responsible for supporting procurement, supplier management, and strategic sourcing activities to ensure the organization receives the materials, supplies, equipment, and services needed to operate effectively. This position places purchase orders, manages supplier communication, supports RFQ/RFP initiatives, maintains supplier documentation, and identifies opportunities for cost reduction and process improvement. The Buyer works closely with internal stakeholders and external suppliers to support quality, delivery, pricing negotiation, compliance, and continuity of supply in a fast-paced medical manufacturing environment. Key Responsibilities Process requisitions, place purchase orders, obtain supplier confirmations, and procure assigned materials, supplies, equipment, and services to support business needs. Manage supplier communication for pricing, delivery, expediting, order changes, nonconformances, returns, and invoice or purchase order discrepancies. Evaluate and develop suppliers through negotiation, research, RFQ/RFP activity, facility visits, and performance review to support cost savings, favorable terms, quality, and continuity of supply. Identify sourcing, supplier, and purchasing process improvement opportunities that reduce cost, increase efficiency, and strengthen supplier performance. Maintain supplier documentation, certifications, and supplier management data in accordance with Quality Management System requirements. Support purchasing data entry, reporting, SAP S/4HANA migration activities, and cross-functional communication with internal stakeholders and external suppliers. Work independently with minimal management assistance while demonstrating strong communication, collaboration, initiative, professionalism, and a positive can-do attitude. Adhere to company policies and procedures; perform all other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications BA or BS degree preferred; minimum two years of purchasing, procurement, or buyer experience required. Minimum two years of SAP and MRP user experience required Experience in medical manufacturing, plastics, or a regulated manufacturing environment preferred. Knowledge of computerized purchasing systems, supplier management, and purchase order processes required. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint required. Must be willing to travel to supplier locations as needed. Physical Requirements Office environment with regular interaction with manufacturing, warehouse, and operational areas. Ability to travel to supplier facilities as required. Ability to operate a computer, use business systems, and communicate effectively in person, by phone, and electronically. Pay:
$65,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
