Job Summary:
The Purchasing Agent will be an important contributor to the team. Maintaining vendor relationships and purchasing strategies that optimize purchasing costs and ensure that materials and supplies are available on a timely basis for field work and shop production. The position is responsible for purchasing across multiple facilities, including field operations and subcontractors.Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Work with the team to establish procurement strategies for the acquisition of project materials and plant materials that optimize quality, cost, terms, and timely deliveryMaintain relationships with suppliersEvaluate and maintain reports for inventory reorderAssist in managing supplier contracts and administering best pricing strategiesPartner with stakeholders to ensure documentation requirements are correctPlace purchase orders in response to Project Management orders, inventory stocking requirements as directedIdentifies actual and potential delivery problems and takes proactive steps to inform appropriate personnelOrder all parts and coordinate deliveries to field projects with production and field teamsEnsure that ERP system transactions are complete, accurate, and timelyResolves discrepancies with accounting regarding invoices, packing slips, and receiving reportsOther duties as assignedCompetencies:
Excellent active listening, negotiation, and presentation skillsAbility to develop strategy and leadership skillsExperience with building vendor relationshipsMinimum 2 years experience in purchasing Good working knowledge of an ERP environment as it relates to purchasing (Syteline preferred)Excellent verbal and written communication skillsExperience with the Microsoft suite of products (Outlook, Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint)Education:
