Job Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented, tech-savvy Seafood Purchasing Specialist with a strong background in sourcing Asian seafood products . In this role, you will leverage your industry expertise, data analysis skills, and technical proficiency to optimize our supply chain, manage vendor relationships, and ensure the highest standards of quality and cost-effectiveness.
Key Roles & Responsibilities:
Specialized Sourcing:
Source and purchase a wide range of Asian and international seafood products, ensuring quality, price, and availability meet strict company standards.
Data-Driven Procurement:
Utilize data analytics tools and inventory management software to monitor daily market trends, forecast demand, and track stock levels accurately.
Supplier Relations:
Develop and maintain strong, strategic relationships with suppliers, fishermen, and processors, both domestically and overseas.
Negotiation & Contracts:
Negotiate pricing, contracts, and delivery terms with vendors to maximize profitability.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Coordinate closely with the sales and warehouse teams to optimize inventory levels and ensure seamless customer fulfillment.
Compliance & Quality Control:
Ensure all imported and domestic seafood products meet food safety, regulatory, and sustainability standards.
Agility:
Respond quickly to urgent purchasing needs and adapt to fast-paced changes in global supply and demand.
Qualifications Experience:
1-2 years of experience in seafood purchasing, seafood sales, or supply chain management within the seafood industry.
Technical & Analytical Skills:
Strong background or education in Computer Science, Data Analysis, or a related technical field . Advanced proficiency in data analysis tools to evaluate market data and manage inventory metrics. Hands-on experience with modern procurement and inventory management software.
Industry Knowledge:
Deep understanding of seafood species, proper handling, and quality standards.
Soft Skills:
Excellent negotiation, written, and verbal communication skills; strong vendor management abilities.
