Job Description

Overview The Purchasing Agent is responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and procuring materials, supplies, and services needed for daily production. This role ensures that the company maintains adequate inventory levels, receives quality materials, and operates efficiently. Key Responsibilities Source and purchase lumber, hardware, adhesives, finishes, and other production materials. Evaluate suppliers based on price, quality, delivery time, and reliability. Negotiate contracts and pricing to support cost‑effective operations. Monitor inventory levels and coordinate timely replenishment. Track purchase orders, deliveries, and invoices to ensure accuracy. Maintain strong relationships with vendors and resolve supply issues as they arise. Collaborate with production, engineering, and management teams to understand material needs. Ensure all purchased materials meet company quality standards and specifications. Qualifications Experience in purchasing, supply chain, or procurement (manufacturing experience preferred). Ability to analyze pricing data and develop cost-saving strategies within a fast-paced environment Strong knowledge of procurement processes including sourcing, negotiation, contract management, and supply chain management Knowledge of woodworking materials and manufacturing processes is a plus. Strong organizational skills. Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively across departments and with suppliers Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
Pay:
$50,769.51 - $61,141.78 per year
